A Prayer for our Nation

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman.

Affirmative prayer: Today, praying for our nation, I affirm our Oneness with the Divine, with each other, and with all life. I affirm that this truth of wholeness is revealed in our nation as peace, harmony, joy, love, justice, and abundance. In gratitude, we are poised to receive guidance and blessings. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
