Honoring Divine Likeness

5/15/2023

After more than 100 years, Peter Pan still hasn't grown up. But a new version of the old classic does try to correct a character considered racist. In the Disney+ movie, “Peter Pan & Wendy,” Tiger Lily is played by Alyssa Wapanatâhk, a member of the Bigstone Cree First Nation, who believes that progress has been made when it comes to Native representation on screen.
“Feel the ground beneath your feet so that your eyes can find the stars. Hold the past in your heart, but know that where you go from here is up to you.” – Tiger Lily, “Peter Pan & Wendy”
Affirmative prayer: Thank you, Infinite Presence, for the mending of unfairness. I recognize the Divine likeness of everyone, honoring my sisters and brothers as expansions of myself, as pure expressions of the Divine. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
