Praying for the Oppressed and the Decision-Makers

The U.S. Supreme Court issued monumental decisions last week that ended affirmative action, blocked the attempt to forgive student loan debt, and ruled that businesses could refuse LGBTQ customers. "Coretta Scott King famously said that the fight for civil rights must be fought and won with each generation,” said Kamala Harris. “We are the generation she spoke of."

Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I see what’s not working in my life and in the lives of others, and I affirm that Divine qualities are revealed in these areas. Taking on a vision for a higher good, I bring my compassion, talents, and ingenuity to bear. I lift up those who are oppressed. I pray that a sense of wholeness embraces decision-makers, and I take action. My inspiration has legs. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
