Yearning to be More

For the first time, astronomers have spotted a sun-like star gulping an orbiting planet, and they’re saying that could be Earth's fate in about 5 billion years when the sun reaches the end of its life and engulfs the solar system. The particular star they witnessed consuming a planet is 15,000 light years away. Astronomers saw the star suddenly brighten as it became 100 times more luminous.
