disarming the gods; claiming my wholeness

2/3/2022

The World Meteorological Organization reported that a thunderstorm that stretched across three U.S. states contained the longest single lightning flash ever recorded. The bolt of lightning stretched nearly 500 miles, extending across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
“Many ancient cultures believed that lightning was the hammer of angry gods, used to punish sinners. But Benjamin Franklin’s kite-flying proved that lightning is simply an electric current. Franklin’s invention of the lightning rod disarmed the gods, controlled electrical energy, and changed the course of civilization. We stopped being afraid of storms.” - Yuval Noah Harari, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
Affirmative prayer: Today, I disarm one false god. I release one limiting belief that has made me afraid, held me back, and kept me in a sense of separation. My heightened awareness of Oneness – of God’s presence within me – empowers me to live a life of wholeness, peace, and joy. Thank you, God, forever, Amen.
