Final Gifts, Infinite Love

4/30/2022

During the pandemic lockdown, Rosie Grant of Alaska got into baking, but with a twist. She’s using recipes she finds on gravestones. Rosie, who is studying to be an archivist, said the recipes seem to be a way for people to leave a final gift, allowing their loved ones to enjoy a treat from “beyond the grave.”
“You don't lose everything when someone dies. You lose their physical presence, but that’s not all of them; it never was. Our spirit is very strong, and a lot of it carries over after death.” – Bruce Springsteen
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I give thanks for the gifts from those who have gone before me. Moments spent together, laughter, love and insight shared. I hold them in light, knowing that we are forever one. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
