Infinite mind involves a vivid sense of connectedness and unity with all life. It’s boundless in space and time and, by our instinct, we can tap into it. We sort information that comes to us in hunches, intuitions, and dreams. We don’t have to attend seminars to develop this ability. We merely have to be attentive. Our life becomes our lab.” – Larry Dossey, Reinventing Medicine
Affirmative prayer: Today, I trust my instinct. I listen to that inner voice and give credence to my hunches and intuitive flashes. Infinite mind is particularized as my mind, and the inexhaustible rush of brilliance, impressions, and inspiration flows through my conscious awareness. My consciousness is the inlet for cosmic imagination, and the outlet for inspired manifestations. Amen. Before patriarchal times, Friday the 13th was the day of the Goddess, a day to worship the Divine Feminine that lives in us all, to celebrate beauty, wisdom, and nourishment of the soul. It’s a day to honor the cycles of creation, highlighted this year with the rise of a harvest moon. Today, we honor the wise, creative feminine in full light.
Affirmative prayer: Today, this Friday the 13th, lit up by a full moon, I see the good fortune of my illuminated life. Every bit of wisdom and passion and creativity that I am about is inspired by the divine feminine within. My life is bright, clear, and beautified. Thank you, dear God, for this bounty. Amen. “Squandering our gifts brings distress to our lives. When we don't use our talents to cultivate meaningful work, we struggle. We feel disconnected and weighed down…” – Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection
Affirmative prayer: Today, I give meaning to my endeavors, my work, my relationships by giving my all. I devote heart and talent to the callings of my life, and I am humbled and grateful that who I am and what I express advances the greater good. Amen. “When the planes flew into the towers, our response was to escalate the matter, which is the tactic that most of us apply to aggression in our own life. We can, however, come from a vulnerable place. We can stand in the shoes of the aggressor and bring empathy, warmth, loving-kindness, and compassion into the equation.”
– Pema Chodron Affirmative prayer: On this day of 9-11, I practice loving-kindness, bringing a compassionate, empathetic heart to those with whom I am at odds. I affirm that my first order of being is love, and that my sense of kinship extends to not only friends, but to the people who give me opportunities to grow, to lift my vibration, to forgive. Thank you, God, for every invitation to enlarge my heart, my life. Amen. “We rarely think of the air we breathe, yet it is in us and around us all the time. In similar fashion, the presence of God penetrates us, is all around us, is always embracing us.” – Thomas Keating, Open Mind, Open Heart
Affirmative prayer: Today, I am keenly aware that the First Cause of life - Infinite Love, Vitality, and Intelligence – is everywhere present, within me, all around me, accrediting every course of my life with high purpose. I am animated by this dynamic energy and celebrate the wonder of being alive. Amen. “The people who know God well always find a lover, not a dictator.” – Richard Rohr,
Everything Belongs, The Gift of Contemplative Prayer. Affirmative prayer: In the stillness, I feel the presence, peace, and love of God. In the activity and noise of my busy life, I feel the energy, guidance, and the perfect right action of Infinite Intelligence. I feel Divine Life in my heart and in everything I behold. I sense It in my hands and in everything I touch. Pure Spirit, nearer than my breathing, looks through my eyes and everything I see is holy. Amen. “In wondering how the Earth sees us, could a place have affection for those who dwell there? Perhaps your place loves having you there, misses you when you are away, and secretly rejoices when you return. Could a landscape have a deep friendship with you, that it senses your presence and feels your love for it? Perhaps your favorite place feels proud of you.” – John O’Donohue, Beauty
Affirmative prayer: Today, in caring for the Earth, I feel her love for me. As I live, move, and be still in my favorite places, I feel the delight of the landscape, my home, the paths I walk. This is sacred expression. I abide in this love story with reverence and gratitude, and I love as I am loved. Amen. “Our psyches have no absolute boundaries. We are part of an infinite field of consciousness that encompasses all there is, beyond space-time and into realities we have yet to explore.” - Stanislav Grof, Reinventing Medicine
Affirmative prayer: Today, the oneness of all life is enshrined in my being. I reside in an infinite filed of consciousness, and my life-energy is boundless. My capacity for love, reverence, and joy has no boundaries. I hear the prayer of the Infinite, whispering, 'anything is possible.' My life is grand and my devotion to all I hold dear runs deep. Amen. “We have to reinvent everything. Education isn't working. Economics aren't working. Main Street has been abused by Wall Street. Religion isn't working. Politics are in chaos. In other words, we have a lot of creating to do.”
– Matthew Fox, Hildegard of Bingen Affirmative prayer: Today, I have the wherewithal to see what’s not working in my life and in the lives of others, and I make divine qualities welcome in these areas. Taking on God’s vision for a higher good, I bring my compassion, talents, and ingenuity to bear. I know what I’m called to do. My inspiration has legs, and I lift up my surroundings with the strength and love of God. Amen. “To behold beauty dignifies your life; it heals you and calls you out beyond the smallness of your own self limitations to experience new horizons. To experience beauty is to have your life enlarged.” – John O’Donahue, Beauty
Affirmative prayer: Today, I behold the beauty of this life, the near-at-hand and the sweeping visions of my eyes and heart. My soul is enlivened in this grace, and I move with reverence and a keen awareness that my life is made whole, dignified, and enlarged. I’m so grateful that this is the essence and beauty of what is before me this day. Amen. |
