FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is affirmative prayer?

It is the courting of Divine presence within us. It is a prayer of acceptance, rather than petitioning. We affirm our oneness with God, with one another, and with all of life. We allow that union to be revealed in our life as peace, harmony, joy, love, and abundance. We steep ourselves in gratitude, poised to receive guidance and blessings.  Jesus taught affirmative prayer, saying, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”  Affirmative prayer is grounded in the counsel of the Buddha, who said, “We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.” And affirmative prayer is practiced when we take to heart the insights of the Sufi mystic, Rumi, who declared, “We are one. Everything in the Universe is within you. Everything that you want, you already are.” Affirmations are not magic; they heighten our awareness of the good that God has in store for us.
