a touchstone for my life

The power of friendship was on display in the Leeds Marathon when marathoner Kevin Sinfield, who was pushing his friend, Rob Burrow, in a wheelchair, stopped just short of the finish line to gather Rob into his arms and carry him across the finish. As he did, he kissed him on the cheek and whispered, “You’re not going to beat me, Rob. We’re finishing together.” Watch it.

Affirmative prayer: I give thanks for every person with whom I’ve shared something real and precious. Time spent with friends in days gone by and in current days is prime time. I bless every soul companion, hold them in absolute love, and allow every dear relationship to be a touchstone for my life. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
