Bringing Good Tidings to the Afflicted

Tescha Hawley is a breast cancer survivor and member of the Gros Ventre tribe in Montana. Her illness inspires her to help others living on the Fort Belknap Reservation. Tescha’s organization, The Day Eagle Hope Project, helps other cancer survivors, but that’s just the beginning. She also helps with addictions, food insecurity, transportation, delivering firewood, suicide prevention, and provides equine therapy to at-risk youth.
“The Spirit of God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, to comfort all who mourn; to give them the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called sturdy oaks of righteousness.”
