Calling Others to Goodness

Representatives in Congress keep failing to elect a Speaker of the House. They’ve been leaderless for three weeks, causing much of the government’s business to stall.  “Bloodletting” and “shameful” are a couple of the descriptions that some members of Congress have used to describe the spectacle. “Enough already; this is embarrassing. We’ve got to get the government open.”
“Leaders are the canvas that God paints to reveal beauty and grace. The more they choose a life of passion, the more they will call others to goodness.” – Dan Allender, Leading With a Limp
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, in the truth of oneness and the radiance of love, I affirm that all elected officials are “wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” May our leaders be humble, strong, and visionary. With the grace and power of divine energy, may they feel encouraged, strengthened, and inspired. I give thanks that each leader in national or local government feels the presence of God in their work with such clarity and passion that they see through eyes of Spirit. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
