Free to Express, to Share

Requests to ban books at public schools hit a 21-year high last year. Most of the books challenged were written by people of color or included LGBTQ themes. Groups behind the book bans say they want to identify objectionable content and restrict access. Critics say that banning books that show people of color and LGBTQ members could harm students.
