Strength Traveling Between Us

10/12/2023

In Jewish tradition, at least 10 people are required to attend a funeral – a minyan – to fulfil Jewish custom. This week, a family of a 24-year-old woman who was killed by Hamas militants at a music festival went online and asked if 10 people could attend her funeral because the family had just moved to Israel and didn't know many people. Ten thousand people showed up for the service.
“With our arms around each other, I believed that strength could travel between us. Nothing, not even sadness, could be greater than the sum of us.” – Emery Lord, The Start of Me and You
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I’m grateful that we’ve been given two arms so we can hold one another. I give myself to others, to the love that weaves us into a beautiful tapestry of connection, devotion, and oneness. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
