Ninety-year-old Joyce DeFauw earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University decades after she first enrolled. Joyce was months away from earning a degree in home economics when she decided to pause her studies and start a family. More than 70 years later, she started studying again from her retirement home and earned her degree in just three years. “It’s nice to finish something I started.”
“No person is a finished thing. Each one of us is in a state of perennial formation. Inside each journey a secret harvesting is at work.” – John O’Donohue, Beauty, The Invisible Embrace
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I give thanks for the sacred invitation to never stop being about the business of living. I revere the mettle and vision of the human heart, and I make a commitment today to take up my inspired dream again, and again. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
