Transforming Weapons into Instruments of Peace

Pedro Reyes addresses the issue of gun violence, in part, by using guns to make something creative. In 2007, he melted 1,527 guns that had been confiscated from criminal gangs into shovels. And, with every shovel, he planted a tree. Now Pedro is transforming guns into musical instruments, turning the weapons into guitars, violins, and flutes.
