Beans are an extremely important crop in Africa, providing protein for millions and serving as a key source of income for farmers. Climate change is threatening the crops, but the Pan-African Bean Research Alliance is fighting to keep them thriving. They facilitated the research, development, and distribution of over 650 new bean varieties. From sugar beans in Zambia to snap beans in Nigeria, 32 African countries are seeing improved beans reach their markets.
