Being the Shepherd

A mother duck in Florida found the perfect place to hatch her ducklings: a maternity ward! The duck flew into an enclosed courtyard of a Jacksonville Beach hospital, where she made a nest and laid her eggs. When she and her babies were ready to move on, she got a special escort through the labor and delivery unit — with a nurse  and lactation consultant following behind her.

Affirmative prayer: Today, I recognize within me the spiritual traits of love, kindness, and midwifery. I cultivate these Divine qualities so I may be a good companion, cheerleader, and shepherd for those in my orbit. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
