Called to Earthly Stewardship

An extraordinary drought in the West is drying up the Colorado River and draining the nation's largest reservoirs, Lakes Mead and Powell. Hydropower at Hoover Dan is threatened. All this has moved the federal government to mandate steep water cuts. Experts say the term “drought” may be insufficient to capture what is happening in the West.

Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, knowing that I am called to earthly stewardship, I devote my prayers and actions to life-giving measures and the greening of our planet. By my spiritual and earthly governance, I help to maintain a climate that is healthy, balanced, and fruitful.
