When soprano Lisette Oropesa was solo performing a Verdi aria in Parma, Italy, she received a helping hand by a fan in the audience. “Sempre Libera” is meant to be sung by a female with a male tenor’s voice from off-stage. When music student Liu Jianwei noticed Lisette was without a duet partner, he boldly stood up and sang the tenor part from the audience. “Through God, you are called to be a hand to others, to step out of your comfort zone and be like a lighthouse illuminating the Earth.” – A.
