moving through highs and lows

In 1937, the “Wedding of the Waters” occurred when a gourd of water was carried from Tulainyo Lake in Sierra Nevada – the highest lake in the United States – to Badwater Basin in Death Valley, the lowest U.S. lake. The gourd was first carried on foot, then by horseback, a covered wagon, a mule team, stagecoach, a narrow-gauge train, and lastly a Lincoln-Zephyr car. Finally, the water from Tulainyo Lake was emptied into Badwater Basin.
