One Person Can Make a Difference

The “world’s largest beach clean-up project” began in 2015 when Afroz Shaz started picking up the trash from Versova Beach in Mumbai. Others joined him and, to date, they’ve removed 5 million kilograms of trash. More than 8 billion tons of plastic is thrown into the ocean every year. To reduce your own plastic waste, avoid single-use cutlery, take away plastic coffee cups and straws, use your own grocery bag instead of plastic ones, and buy plastic-free products.
