passing over to peace and freedom

The Jewish observance of Passover, which begins today, is a celebration of freedom. Rabbi Michael Holzman said there’s a lot of resonance with what’s happening in the world. “We're thinking about Ukrainians, Afghans, and the southern border of the United States. Passover helps us to appreciate freedom and to push for liberation and social justice for everyone.”
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I stand at the threshold of Passover, springtime, and new beginnings. Today, I celebrate the divine quality of liberty, praying that this spiritual truth is so vividly quickening in hearts and souls everywhere that aggression ceases, and that peace, unity, and freedom is the natural way of all life. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
