It might not seem like it sometimes, but the world has mostly become a better place to live in the last 11 years, according to the Social Progress Imperative. The nonprofit looks at health, safety, education, healthcare, access to technology, and the environment. Scandinavian countries rank the highest, with the United States ranking far down the list.
“For the planet and for all living beings to move forward, we rely on an inherent original goodness and a universally shared dignity.” – Richard Rohr
Affirmative prayer: Today, I give thanks for the purity of Life and for all the sacred companions who carry out this goodness in their daily beingness. Small and large benevolent gestures, kindness, and generosity define us as spiritual beings. We celebrate this inherent truth, this shared expression of love and Oneness. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
