Removing the Distraction of Illusions

French scientist Etienne Klein posted an astonishing picture of a red ball of spicy fire that he declared was the Webb Space Telescope’s image of Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Sun. “A new world is revealed every day," he gushed. Viewers marveled at the details of the photo, but Etienne later revealed that the image was actually a slice of chorizo sausage.
