A sure-fire way to boost happiness

A small act of kindness can go a long way, say researchers, towards bolstering health and wellness. Dr. John-Tyler Binfet at the University of British Columbia published a study that explores how acts of kindness impacts an individual’s perceptions of themselves and others. “We know being kind yields a number of wellbeing benefits, such as stress reduction and happiness.” Simply, it means our actions that improve the lives of others also improve our own.
“This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.”
– the Dalai Lama
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, today I align with the goodness of Life, open my compassionate heart, and allow the love of God to find its way to those in need. I recognize my union with all persons, and let this felt connection move me to embrace, give, and act in ways of kindness. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
