A new study counters the belief that our metabolism declines during our adult lives. Researchers found that it remains level until about age 60, when it starts to slowly decline by less than 1 percent per year. “There are lots of things that impact weight and nutritional status,” said dietician Colleen Tewksbury. “It’s a complex web that includes food intake, activity levels, sleep patterns, and other factors.”
