Every Atom a Magnificent Glow

4/17/2021

April’s famous shooting stars, the Lyrid meteor shower, will streak across the sky April 16th to the 30th. NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke said that Lyrid are pieces of the Thatcher comet which orbits the sun about once every 415 years. The Lyrids are one of the oldest recorded showers, with observations going back to 687 B.C. “You don't need any kind of special equipment to see the meteors. Just look up at the dark sky, be patient and enjoy the show.”
“I would rather be ashes than dust. I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of us all is to live, not merely exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time well.” – Jack London
Affirmative prayer: Infinite Presence, I am a cosmic point of life and energy in this Universe, my home. My soul is bright, my love unending, and my life journey is boundless, “trailing clouds of glory.” Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
