Single Cell Organisms Choose to Stay Safe

7/31/2021

A paper in Current Biology reports that a pond-dwelling, microscopic organism can make complex decisions to escape harm. “What this confirms is that a single cell can have different possible responses and then choose among them to avoid harm,” says  Wallace Marshall, Biochemist at the University of California.
“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
Affirmative prayer: I become quiet and know that the ‘I Amness’ of God is my home, my reality, my beingness. I trust the still, small voice within, and confidently move in the direction of fulfillment, service, and joy. My decisions are inspired from On High. Thank you, God, forever. Amen.
