The Power of my Word

During the past year, Brazil's Amazon rainforest saw its highest rate of deforestation in over 15 years, losing more than 5,100 square miles of rainforest. The country’s president, Jair Bolsonaor, is chipping away at environmental protections and derides rainforest shrinkage. “Bolsonaro tries to hide the damage with fantastical speeches and actions of greenwashing," reported Mauricio Voivodic of the World Wildlife Fund. "In reality, he is accelerating the destruction."
