“Once you create a self-justifying story line, your emotional entrapment within it quadruples!” – Pema Chodron
Affirmative prayer: Today, I own the truth of who I am: an expression of pure Spirit. The Divine wrote my story line before I was born and cast me in its great production of a wondrous life made real. I take part in this narrative with everyone, for we are all made in the image and likeness of God. It’s an all-star cast. Amen. Last evening, my grandson was born! Welcome Elijah! Much love…
“Life sang me into being, and has put me in the great chorus of its hopes and dreams. Now is the time for my solo of possibilities.” Affirmative prayer: Today, I am thankful to be included in a life of infinite possibilities. The life of God, always finding new, beautiful ways to reveal itself. May the hopes, dreams, and potential of this one life, this blessed soul, be deeply fulfilled. Amen. Today, the annual Hindu Festival of Jahnashtami, celebrating Krishna
“When we respond to the joys and sorrows of others as if they were our own, we have attained the highest state of spiritual union.” – Krishna Affirmative prayer: Today, I am my brother’s and sister’s keeper. Tenderly aware of our Oneness, I embrace the joys and sorrows of others. I honor all paths, celebrate our common life, and allow our shared distress and passion to deepen, ennoble, and beautify my life, my soul. Amen. “If you deliberately plan to be less than you are capable of being, then I warn you that you'll be deeply unhappy for the rest of your life.” – Abraham Maslow
Affirmative prayer: Today, the negative views that I’ve held fast are released. I welcome the call to live fully, express authentically, and to simply be happy. This ideal is made real by my prayers for divine connection, my belief in my capabilities, and by devoting my talents, energy, and spiritual essence to the business before me. I am God’s living enterprise. Amen. “What silences the intuitive voice is our need for certainty. You can learn to trust your intuition. Rather than looking for assurances from others, trust your instinct, experience, insight, and faith.” – Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection
Affirmative prayer: Today, I move beyond the opinions of others and follow the counsel of my inspired heart. Remembering that I am sourced by divine energy and intelligence, I lean into my instincts, insights, and faith. My intuitive voice is clear and worthy of trust, and I am guided to the good that God has in store for me. Amen. “Sometimes we are prompted to drop everything and deepen into the awesome aroma of pure Presence. Silence…. The result is contentment with Being and grace upon grace. A thoroughly deepened person is stunningly real.” – Evan Hodkins
Affirmative prayer: Today, I grant myself the favor of simply hanging out in pure Presence. I become still – no desires, no grasping or resisting. I simply breathe and content my self in this moment. Divine beauty with its grace and realness is realized within, and made manifest in the scenery of my life. Amen. On the day of a new school year beginning...
“Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you.” – Merlin, The Once and Future King by T.H. White Affirmative prayer: Today, as I observe the annual commencement of children in crosswalks and yellow school buses with flashing red lights, I pause, give thanks, and honor the commitment of teachers who are receiving, inspiring, and loving our children. I smile, and put on the mind of a child with heightened curiosity and an excitement for learning. In this moment, truly, learning is the only thing. Amen. “The thing about light is that it really isn't yours; it's what you gather and shine back. And it gets more power from reflectiveness. If you become still and take it in, it fills your cup, and then you can give it off yourself.”
– Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies Affirmative prayer: Today, I take in the radiant light of Infinite Spirit. I delight in God’s brilliance, and let it illuminate my heart and soul so completely that I become a beacon for Spirit’s loving presence. I am luminous. I give off light in the lives of my family, friends and all those in my orbit. Thank you, God, for this shining. Thank you forever. Amen. “I am happy even before I have a reason. I am full of light even before the sky can greet the sun or the moon. Dear companions, we have been in love with God for so very, very long. What can we do now, but forever dance!” – Hafiz
Affirmative prayer: Today, I am filled with tenderness, and I’m in awe of the light beings that we all are. With my sacred companions, in heaven-side consciousness, I memorialize a good life. A splendid life. I lean into the love of God, grateful for this forever dance. Amen. “The creation story is built on a prayerful phrase, ‘Let there be…’ Not, ‘There will be,’ or ‘Dear God, make it to be.’ No suggestion of effort, strain, or anxiety. Just, letting… The Kingdom that Jesus said is within us is a finished kingdom, and that for which we pray is done even before we ask.” – Eric Butterworth, The Creative Life
Affirmative prayer: Today, in the spirit of the master teacher, I pray believing it is done. In my sacred affirmation, I am not petitioning. I am recognizing pure Spirit is in the midst of what I’m praying for, declaring that the good I’m seeking is already fulfilled, and I give thanks. I’m praying love, and God’s answer is always, ‘Yes.’” Thank you, God, forever. Amen. |
