“There is a wellspring of healing energy within the physical body. Our job, as Emerson said, is to ‘get our bloated nothingness out of the way of the divine circuits.’ When we create an energetic frequency of peace, love, and well-being, the quantum phenomenon that is the body can naturally reveal its balance and perfect operation.” – Roger Teel, This Life is Joy
Affirmative prayer: Today I yield to an image of wholeness. A natural balance of mind, body, and soul is restored. Fear and misgivings are unseated from my consciousness, and I reside in a resolute state of compassion, forgiveness, and contentment. I say the words, make the gestures, and embody the healing energy. Amen. Praying for those in the path of Hurricane Dorian...
“God is always God. No matter the storm, there is always something hidden in the inner being that has never been threatened. We may stumble, but always there is that Eternal Voice, forever whispering, that thing which forever sings and sings.” – Ernest Holmes, The Essential Ernest Holmes Affirmative prayer: Today, I pray safety and support for those under siege by the storm. I affirm that they are not alone, that they make wise choices, and they feel an ever-present sense of divine shelter. I pray for responders and caregivers, that they are guided, kept safe, and have what they need to be about their heroic work. Infinite Presence, may your love and care be intimately felt by all. Amen. “A fish caught in a net thought, ‘If I get out of this, I'll never live again in the limits of the lake. Next time, the ocean! I'll make the infinite my home.’" – Rumi
Affirmative prayer: Today, I move from the confines of limited expression, back to the sea of infinite possibilities. I live large in divine love and inspirited confidence, and my right identification shows up as loving relationships, fulfilling endeavors, pure joy, and wholly service to life. Amen. “As parents, we are ushers between worlds, helping children to trust darkness, and gracefully transition from day to night and back again. Rituals are useful in threshold moments: lighting a bed-time candle, reciting an evening verse, prayer, telling stories, peace-giving lullabies, ever so sweetly kissing those cheeks. Trust is taught by falling asleep elegantly. Sleep is more than sleep. It tells us that the world is, in many ways, safe.” – Evan Hodkins, The School of Alchemy
Affirmative prayer: At the end of this day – by deed or prayer – I shepherd my children and my soul companions into the arms of the Beloved. We trust the night. We trust our Source of all good, knowing that we are sheltered, regenerated, and inspired. We sleep in the elegance of pure grace. Amen. “The Dalai Lama practices a ‘giving and receiving’ meditation, visualizing sending his enemies happiness, affection, and love, and visualizing receiving their hatred, fear, and cruelty. He does not blame nor judge. He breathes in their poisons and breathes out his compassion, reducing hatred and cultivating forgiveness.”
– Desmond Tutu, The Book of Forgiveness Affirmative prayer: Today, I assume a thoughtful, awakened, and gentle heart, freeing myself from the ache of ill will with another. I offer refuge to my rival, transforming their pain into my compassion and forgiveness. This is a restoration of all good. Amen. “The best way to ensure that you will eventually face a problem is to try your best to run from it.” – Evan Hodkins
Affirmative prayer: Today, I look straight away at the problem before me and, in this clarity, I am empowered. I open to not only a solution, but to all the ways that this episode may enrich me: new insights, new creative possibilities, and a higher vision. Thank you, God, for this evidence of thy love, and for the opportunities before me. Amen. “Playing ping-pong in Japan, I saw the best way to win any game is to never to think about the score. The point is to make as many people as possible around you feel that they are winners. The opposite of winning isn't losing. It's failing to see the larger picture.” – Pico lyer, What Ping-Pong Taught Me About Life
Affirmative prayer: Today, I am a beneficial presence, abiding in unity consciousness. I surrender the illusion of separation and the stress of competition. I lay down the scorecard, realizing that the only point systems that matter are points of love, of light, points of connection. I move from adversaries to allies, from one upmanship to one life. I am blessed, and I am a blessing. Amen. “Even at the moment of your failure, right then, you are beautiful. You may not know it yet, but you have the ability to reinvent yourself endlessly. That's your beauty.” – Lidia Yuknavitch, The Beauty of Being a Misfit
Affirmative prayer: Today, I peer through setbacks, understanding that ‘failing’ is a step forward along the path of fulfillment. I lean into the love of God, this indwelling creative force that inspires my confidence, energy, and imagination. My faith is deepened, and my commitment to what is before me is steadfast. Amen. “We cannot diminish the power of an addiction until we acknowledge it. This is inner work, looking at the places where you lose power in your life. As you bring to light, heal, and release deep addictive currents, the energy of your soul is restored and allowed to nourish and shape your life. This is the work you were born to do.”
– Gary Zukav, The Seat of the Soul Affirmative prayer: Today, I recognize my addictive desires and behaviors that are holding me back, impeding the life-animating force within me. I bring them to light, recognize a higher truth, and release them. My soul and body are restored and strengthened, and I give myself to inspired living, in service and love. I pray this for myself and for others. Amen. “When we're lonely, we look for a way out. We try to find companions to save us from despair. What if we could just have compassion and respect for ourselves, embrace what we’re feeling, and stop trying to escape from being alone?”
– Pema Chodron, When Things Fall Apart Affirmative prayer: In moments of loneliness, I mindfully embrace all that I’m feeling. I cultivate a sense of compassion, respect, and unconditional friendliness with myself. My soul is restored. I remember that I am loved with an everlasting love. Amen. |
