Blessed to Not Know what I Do Not Know

6/14/2020

A UC Berkeley graduate student arrived late for a statistics class one day and, seeing two math problems on the board, assumed they were homework assignments. When he turned them in a few days later, he remarked that the problems were “a little harder than usual.” To which the professor, exclaimed, “These weren’t homework. They were famous unsolved problems in statistics!” The student, George Dantzig, went on to become a world-renowned mathematical scientist who made contributions to industrial engineering, operations research, computer science, economics, and statistics.
Affirmative prayer: "Infinite Presence, today I allow the territory of not knowing what I do not know to be fertile ground for creativity, answers, and spiritual direction. I move forward with trust and confidence, available to be inspired and guided. Thank you, God, forever. Amen." - Rev. Scott
