Giving Rise to the kingdom of heaven

8/7/2019

In the wake of violence in El Paso and Dayton...
“In the Kingdom of Heaven parable, a landowner hires laborers in the morning, then hires more throughout the day. At the end of the day, he pays everyone the same, which upsets those who worked all day. The landowner is like, "Seriously? You're angry because I am generous?" The final line of the parable is: "The last shall be first and the first shall be last.” – Nadia Bolz-Weber, Pastrix
Affirm: “Today, I see as God sees: the shooters, victims, families, responders, immigrants, lawmakers – all are included in the love of God. I affirm that the ache of this experience gives rise to healing, comfort, understanding, action, and justice. Amen.” – Rev. Scott
